12 Foreign Service Officers have successfully completed a three-month Spanish Language Course jointly conducted by the Foreign Service Academy of Kenya and the Pontifical Bolivarian University of Columbia. The 12 were awarded certificates at an event presided over by the Deputy Director General, Americas and Caribbean Directorate , Amb. Josphat K. Maikara, EBS, and the Colombian Ambassador in Nairobi H.E. Pedro Leon Cortés Ruiz. Also present was Deputy Director General, Foreign Service Academy Amb. Kennedy Mokaya and Profesora Maria Teresa Espinosa Cardenas. Amb. Maikara expressed the government’s appreciation to the people and government of Columbia for supporting the language training program that is aimed at enhancing the linguistic proficiency of Kenyan diplomats. He further commended the Foreign Service Academy for seeking out partnerships and collaborations with other strategic institutions in abide to promote essential diplomatic skills of foreign service officers.
