The Foreign Service Academy, led by Ag. DG Ambassador Paul Ndungú today began a five-day training program for thirty (30) officers from the Office of the Auditor -General.
The capacity building program aims to equip participants with critical skills in diplomatic protocol, official etiquette and events management.
In his opening remarks, the Ag. Director General noted that such skills are critical not only for effective inter- agency relations but also for management of official events in public institutions , including the office of the Auditor – General.
He also noted that most public bodies occasionally play host to various VIP guests from friendly countries and hence the need for basic diplomatic skills including protocol management.
Consequently, the areas covered by the training will include Diplomatic Protocol & Etiquette, Ceremonial Protocol, events management, handling VIPs, cross-Cultural communication and public Communication skills.
This training by Foreign Service Academy is part of the Academy’s program to equip members of the public service with basic diplomatic skills to facilitate effective international cooperation across the public service in line with the changing patterns of international cooperation.
