Prof. Patrick Maluki, E.B.S

I am an experienced trainer and researcher in Diplomacy, International conflict Management, International Negotiation, International Mediation, International Political economy, human rights and governance, and peace building issues. I am an Associate Professor and the Director of the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, University of Nairobi. I am also the Chairman of the Council for the Foreign Service Academy, the co-chair of Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN-Kenya) and the Chair of the Diplomacy Scholars Association of Kenya. I have 20-year training experience in Diplomatic Negotiation and International Mediation at the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) and at the National Defence College (NDC). I am an accomplished researcher and consultant and I have carried out academic research and published extensively.

I served as the Secretary to the national Think Tank Group on the election of Amb. Amina Mohammed as Chair of the Africa Union in 2016, and was a member of the National Committee on the Implementation of International Humanitarian Law: Kenya Gazette Vol. CX-no.69 of 22/8/2008.

I am the Executive Chairman of the Poverty Eradication and Community Empowerment (PEACE) NGO, through which I initiated the Lenakakya Primary School project in Mutitu North Sub County -Kitui. I am the director and founder of the Africa Centre for the study of the United States of America, the Africa Centre for the study of China, Centre for Pan Africa and Diaspora studies, Centre for Climate change Diplomacy and Peace and Centre for Counter terrorism and violent extremism of the university of Nairobi.

I hold a PhD in Peace and Conflict studies from Masinde Muliro university of science and technology, a Mater of arts degree in international studies from Jawaharlal Nehru university-India, a Bachelor of Education degree from Moi university and a postgraduate diploma in mass communication from the university of Nairobi.
