In aspirations of being a diplomat. We can define the term, but not exactly know the technicalities of being one. My time in the foreign service academy has allowed me to learn the technical aspects of being a diplomat. One of the focus of the foreign service is communication. Through learning the modes of communication that happen in the foreign service like note verbale and through the ministry like briefs, memos and aide memoirs. I believe it equips me with the tools needed to be a diplomat. The focus of language also gives a helping hand. I believe in a learning process theory is important and experience comes hand in hand. In the foreign service I have been able to gain both the experience and learn in theory what is expected in the foreign service. Through hard earned experience and being in the fore front of the discussions, protocols and conferences. I believe it's the best way to learn. I believe the mandate of the Academy will have a great impact on the diplomats of tomorrow.
